arlene- bierman-Dr. Bierman is the Principal Investigator for the Project for an Ontario Women's health Evidence-Based Report (POWER). She is a general internist, geriatrician, and health services researcher and the inaugural holder of the Ontario Women's Health Council Chair in Women's Health and Associate Professor, Nursing, Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing; and Health Policy, Evaluation, and Management, Public Health Sciences, and Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

She is a Senior Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael's Hospital and Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences (ICES). A member of the Ontario Health Quality Council, and chair of its Performance Measurement Advisory Board Dr. Bierman is an internationally recognized expert in performance measurement and reporting. She is on the Board of Directors for the National Centre of Excellence program, the National Initiative to Improve Care for the Elderly (NICE).
