The types of institutions with which the primary (corresponding) authors are primarily affiliated are depicted in Figure 3a and 3b below for the academic and grey literatures. Some of these authors may hold multiple (Ω) affiliations. Not surprisingly, over three quarters (78.6 %) of the primary authors are affiliated with Ontario universities. This is followed by affiliation to Ontario hospitals (23.1%) and organizations, such as research institutes (13.9%). As for the grey literature (Figure 3b), there is a lower percentage (23.7%) of authors affiliated to Ontario hospitals and a relatively higher proportion (28.1%) affiliated to institutions other than Ontario universities or hospitals. There was, however, a sizeable percentage (58.8%) of the sources where authors did not provide their institutional affiliation.
