Call for Posters - Building a Healthier Ontario

horniconleftAs part of our forum Building a Healthier Ontario, PHIRN invites submissions from its Scientists and Affiliates of abstracts for posters on current and emerging population health issues. The Forum is particularly interested in research on population health equity or population health interventions in Ontario.

Poster Display/Presentation

Each poster will be displayed for the full day of 30 September in the Huron Room at 900 Bay Street, Toronto, from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Presenters will be asked to be available at their posters for group poster presentations and discussions at a designated time during the forum (during the lunch break). Posters should aim to be around 50”wide x 40”long (this will be confirmed with abstract acceptance) and include a title in large font and the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the authors and should include photographs, statistical tables, figures, charts or other graphic material relevant to the project.

Please complete the template below as your abstract.

  • Abstracts must be limited to 500 words (3500 characters) and will be accepted in French or English.
  • The abstract should address purpose of the study, methods or approach, and findings.

Each individual may submit a maximum of one (1) abstract as Presenting Author but could be a co-author on other posters.

  • Use short, specific titles and
  • standard abbreviations.

You will obtain confirmation of receipt of submission. If you have any questions regarding submissions, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa Childs at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Successful Abstracts

You will be notified if your abstract is successful no later than 12 August 2011. Submitting authors must certify that all listed co-authors agree to the posting of the poster at the forum and that at least one of the co-authors will be available at the forum to present their poster. Regrettably, we are unable to provide financial support for poster presentations at this forum. Registration to the forum, however, is free and all authors listed on posters will be automatically registered for the all-day forum.
